FAQs

Hopefully we can answer all of your questions here but  please get in touch if there is anything we have missed.

  • Do I need to let you know before I join a session?
No, just turn up! We want our sesssions to be relaxed so you can just drop-in when you fancy drawing.
  • Can I come empty handed?
Yes, we always have materials available for you to use. We offer just the basics; boards paper, pencils and charcoal, but they are free.
  • Can we bring drinks into the session?
Yes, most of our regular sessions are in pubs, so we want you to be able to enjoy a drink whilst you draw, it also supports the pub.
  • Do I need to have done life drawing before?
Absolutely not, our drawers have a complete mix of skills and experience, everyone is welcome. If it is your first time and you are at all nervous or have any questions then please just let us know and we can talk you through it.
  • Are the sessions tutored?
Our regular sessions are untutored but we are always happy to give you tips and guidance one-on-one, so just let us know if you would like this. Very occassionally we may book in a tutor for some of the session, if there is the demand, but we will always give plenty of warning before we do.
  • Can I model for your session?
As we have been running for many years we are lucky to have quite a large selection of models, however we always love to hear from new models so please get in touch and we will try and get back to you as soon as possible.
  • Can I turn up late?
We know what the working week can be like so will always welcome late comers, we just ask that you please be restpectful of other drawers and only join in with the change of pose.
  • How do I pay?
We know it's 2019, but at the moment we only take cash! We are hoping to get oursleves set up with a card machine soon but until then please bring cash with you.
  • How much are your sessions?
All our regular sessions are £10, but we offer a loyalty card scheme where you get your 7th session for free with six stamps.
  • Who is the model?
Keep an eye on our 'What's On' page to see who is booked in to model. We try to use a diverse range of models for each session, all our models are experienced, professional and excellent at what they do. Very occassionally we may get a last minute cancellation and therefore we might have a model that isn't listed on our website.
  • Can I take photos during the session?
We ask you to not take pictures during the session without asking the model for permission but you may take photos of your work on the break and at the end.
  • Do I have to show anyone my work?
There is no pressure whatsoever to show anyone your work, sometimes other drawers will share there drawings by laying them out on the floor and chatting through what they have done and what they have struggled with. It's entirely up to you and what you feel comfortable doing.
